SYNONYMS FAST RED E
DEFINITION Fast Red E consists essentially of disodium 2 - hydroxy-1 (4--sulfonato-naphthylazo)naphthalene-6-sulfonate subsidary colouring matters together with sodium sulfate as the principal uncoloured components. 
Fast Red E is described as the sodium salt. The calcium and the potassium salt are also permitted.
